On December 30, 2022, Beyt Ahlam held a runway show in Beirut, Lebanon showcasing products from their debut collection “The Invitation” as well as pieces from their upcoming release. Held at Disco el Ahlam, a party attended by 520 people, 10 models made their way down the dance-floor-turned-runway, as Blu Fiefer, a local artist making waves in the music industry, performed a collection of old and new hits.
As a values driven brand it was essential for us to embody our guiding principles in this show and use them to make a statement of who we are. All runway pieces were constructed out of defective product and excess fabric from our first collection as a way of eliminating waste in our business and demonstrating the creative possibilities of sustainable approaches to fashion. Given our identity as a street-wear brand, it only made sense to bring the runway to an accessible setting for our audience and what better way to do that than through Beirut’s vibrant party scene. The experience goes to cement the intersectionality of fashion with different social contexts and art forms. We at Beyt Ahlam can’t wait to create alternate realities for fashion to flourish in and provide a space for people to be able to express themselves through garments that not only make an impact, but also create a statement.
